Podcast guest research

Prep like the
big shows.
Minus the agency.

Paste a link. In a few minutes you hold what an agency's research desk hands its host: who your guest is right now, questions only they could answer, and a script to read from.

Only what they've shared publicly. You never connect an account. Invite-only while we test.

What the big shows have

Big shows walk in with a producer, a brief and a script. Now so do you.

A producer

who has already read everything your guest has said in public, and remembers what they've been asked before.

A brief

with questions only this guest could answer, the source under each one, and a line to bring them back if they drift.

A script

from cold open to outro, in your voice, with the clip moments marked before you record.

Shows with a production agency pay a monthly retainer for this desk. Yours comes with the tool.

Agencies still do the rest better than software: booking, editing, clips, distribution. The research desk is the part that fits in your browser.

The briefing

One talking point. Everything you need to run it.

Briefing · Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha

Tone · Conversational & warm

You've questioned whether all the money going into AI is showing up as real business yet. Where has it paid off inside your own companies?

From his “WTF Is AI” episode, 26 Oct 2026: he set the money committed to AI this year against far smaller enterprise AI revenue.

Already covered elsewhere, so skipped: dropping out at 14, the chess years, how Zerodha started · told at length on The Ranveer Show, Figuring Out and more

Follow-up: Tell me about one AI bet of your own that didn't pay off, and what you did next.

↩ If it drifts: “Hold that thought, I want to come back to where AI has actually paid off for you.”

Clip momentA sharp line on AI spending from someone who funds it.

Your voice

Same question. Your way of asking it.

Pick the tone your show runs on. Every question, follow-up and script line is written in it, and a sentence of feedback rewrites the draft.

You've wondered out loud whether all this AI money is actually turning into business. Where have you seen it work in your own companies?

Like two smart friends talking. Same guest, same fact, your voice.

How long it takes

The afternoon of tabs, gone.

Their interviews, writing, talks, recent news and their own site are read at the same time, fresh each run. The brief lands while the kettle boils.

Nothing is remembered from last year. It is all read again, today.

The script

Tick the questions you like. Read the rest off the page.

A host script from cold open to outro, timed to your episode. Clip moments and steer-back lines sit where you will need them. PDF, Word, Markdown, or a link for your producer.

Built not to make things up

If it couldn't find it, it says so.

Only what your guest has shared publicly is used, and you never connect an account. When a guest has little online, the brief tells you what it could not verify instead of filling the gap. Topics to handle with care are listed before you record.

For podcast hosts, branded shows run by small marketing teams, and anyone who interviews people on camera.

Questions

Asked before you did.

How does Prepod research my podcast guest?

It gathers live public information at the same time: the guest's LinkedIn profile and recent posts, their X posts, their Instagram bio and recent posts, their YouTube channel and past interviews, news and web results, and their own website if you add one. Everything is read fresh each time rather than pulled from what an AI chatbot happens to remember.

Do I need to connect my LinkedIn, X, Instagram or YouTube accounts?

No. You only paste your guest's public links or handles. Prepod never asks you to log in to any of those services, and it only uses information that is already public.

Can it write the full podcast script, not just questions?

Yes. After the research you can generate a complete host script with an intro, timed segments, your chosen questions with follow-ups, transitions and an outro. You can add a cold open, a rapid-fire round and a call to action, and choose a tone from conversational to bold and provocative.

Can I change a question I don't like?

Yes. Every talking point has a Reframe button. Add a note such as "ask about the failure, not the success", or pick a suggestion like "make it bolder", and only that question is rewritten. You can also rewrite the whole set with one note, without repeating the research.

What if the conversation goes off track?

Every talking point comes with a short line to bring your guest back if an answer wanders. Questions that could touch a nerve, such as a failure or a conflict, are flagged before you record, with a gentler line that gives the guest an easy out. The script also ends with ready-to-say lines for tangents, long answers and running over time.

Can I give feedback on the script?

Yes. After the first draft, tell Prepod what to change, for example "cut the intro to 45 seconds and add more follow-ups", and it revises the whole script into a final draft. You can go back to the previous draft at any time.

What formats can I download?

Talking points and scripts can be downloaded as PDF, Word (.doc), Markdown or plain text, copied to the clipboard, or shared as a read-only link that works for 30 days.

How long does it take?

Research and the talking points usually take 2 to 5 minutes, because several live sources are read in parallel. The full script then takes a minute or two more. You can regenerate the script in a different tone without repeating the research.

What if my guest is not on LinkedIn or has little online?

Prepod works with whatever it can find: YouTube, news and web results and their website. Adding more links helps. When information is thin, the briefing tells you what could not be verified, and talking points built mainly from your agenda are labelled that way.

Is my guest and script data kept private?

Prepod does not keep an account history of your guests or scripts. Your latest results are stored in your own browser and are cleared when you sign out. The only thing kept on our side is a share link, if you create one: it holds the talking points or script you chose to share and is deleted after 30 days. To do the job, the details you enter are sent to the research and AI services that power Prepod.
